Preschool in Sweden is an educational environment for children aged 1\u20135. It is not only childcare but an early-learning setting based on a national curriculum. Children learn through play, creativity, social interaction, and exploration, supported by trained educators.<\/p>

Preschool in Boden<\/h3>

Boden\u2019s preschools emphasise sustainability, community and child\u2011centered learning. Educators see each child as an individual and create a safe and stimulating environment where children can grow, develop confidence, and gain early knowledge through play.<\/p>

All preschools serve breakfast, lunch and snacks, and all materials used in daily activities are provided by the preschool, including books, crayons, art supplies and, when relevant, digital tools. Diapers used during the day are also supplied by the preschool. Families only need to provide clothing suitable for indoor and outdoor play.<\/p>

All municipal preschools have access to support from special educators within the central student health organisation.<\/p>

Applying for preschool<\/h3>

You can contact us and we will help you with the application process. Families who have not yet registered their address in Boden may still receive an offer for a preschool placement, but must provide proof of housing in Boden (such as a rental contract or purchase agreement).<\/p>

Preschool placements generally have a queue time of up to four months, although it may be faster depending on availability.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The cost of a preschool place is based on a percentage of the family\u2019s income, with a national maximum cap. The current income ceiling is SEK 52,410 per month. The maximum fee for preschool is 3% of this income ceiling.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Basics for placement<\/h3>

The number of hours a child receives at preschool depends on the family\u2019s situation:

\u2022 Working<\/strong> \u2013 If both guardians work, preschool hours are based on work schedules.
\u2022 Studying<\/strong> \u2013 If one or both guardians study, hours are based on study\/work schedules.
\u2022 Job seeking<\/strong> \u2013 Registered job seekers with children aged 1\u20133 are entitled to 15 hours per week. From the autumn term of the year the child turns 3, all children are entitled to 15 free hours per week regardless of the guardian\u2019s employment situation.
\u2022 Parental leave<\/strong> \u2013 When at home with a younger sibling, children may attend 15 hours per week.<\/p>

Public preschool (allm\u00e4n f\u00f6rskola)<\/h3>

All children in Sweden are entitled to free preschool from the autumn of the year they turn 3. This includes:

\u2022 15 hours per week
\u2022 Lunch provided
\u2022 Following the school year schedule (holidays are free from preschool)

Families who later wish to increase hours to a working or studying schedule may be subject to a queue time of up to four months. This type of placement is free of charge. For families with an older sibling aged 3 or above, this free placement also applies during parental leave.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

In total, the education administration is now investing around SEK 250 million in building four new preschools, which is the largest targeted investment in qualitative development for children and young people in Boden municipality. OB care<\/h3>\n

The municipality of Boden offers guardians who work evenings and weekends care for children during times when the preschool and after-school center are not open. The activity is aimed at families whose children are enrolled in preschool or leisure time, children 1-12 years.<\/p>\n

The staff who work with us are trained and have experience of children and care. The activities are based on the children and the weekends are planned according to the children’s needs and wishes as well as conditions. Outdoor activities, excursions, games and help with homework are examples of activities. All the day’s meals are served and the food is prepared by chefs at the preschool. <\/p>\n

Today, OB care’s activities are at Kyrkkl\u00e4ppen’s preschool. From March 2022, Kyrkk\u00e4ppen’s preschool will be completely renovated. As a result, OB care is moving its operations permanently to Bj\u00f6rkdungen’s preschool. Bj\u00f6rkdungen’s preschool is also a newly renovated preschool.<\/p>\n

When assessing the need for space, the municipality of Boden is always based on the child’s best interests, and the assessment is always based on the child staying with a guardian when the other is at work.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

When you apply for a place at Ob care, it is important that you read the guidelines that are available and that you make a complete application. If the application is not complete, it can not be processed. Both guardians must agree that the application is made and approved.
