Recently, Chaîne des Rotisseurs food and drink enthusiasts gathered in Boden when northern Sweden and Norway jointly celebrated World Chaîne Day. The event demonstrated that Boden has established itself as a destination full of surprises on the culinary map.
When connoisseurs from northern Sweden and Norway were to meet, Boden was chosen. The worldwide organization Chaîne des Rotisseurs notes a growing commitment to gastronomic experiences, which is also attracting more and more new, younger members. At the Chaîne des Rotisseurs meeting for Norrbotten and Northern Norway, World Chaîne Day was celebrated in Boden with visits to three of Boden’s restaurants.
Fun Dining at DG11
In Boden, not only fine dining is offered, but also fun dining with surprising and creative elements. The celebration began with a welcome dinner at DG11. Restaurant manager James Thompson, a professional member of the Chaîne, presented a fun dining menu where flavors, technique, and presentation harmonized in no less than twelve different dishes with carefully selected wines. The menu included everything from snails to duck breast.

Brewmaster’s Lunch
On Saturday, participants enjoyed a classic schnitzel lunch made from moose meat, at the restaurant Bryggmästarn. One of Bryggmästarn’s specialties, as the name suggests, is also a wide selection of unusual beers, which were also sampled during a beer tasting.
Norrbotten Flavors in Sörbyn
The weekend concluded with a Dîner Amical at Sörbyn Lodge, created by professional member and head chef Pavlos Merkouris. He offered a gastronomic interpretation of Norrbotten ingredients. Local flavors were placed in a modern context with Pavlos own twist. Among other things, visitors got to taste Arctic char and reindeer.

Gastronomy as a Reason to Travel
World Chaîne Day 2026 in Boden was not only a celebration of gastronomy and friendship but also a clear sign that Boden belongs on the international culinary map.
