Oscar®-nominated and BAFTA®-winning LAIKA brings us Wildwood, an epic adventure about love, sacrifice, and the magic that reveals itself when we dare to look beyond the familiar.
When her little brother is kidnapped by a flock of crows, headstrong teenager Prue McKeel (Peyton Elizabeth Lee) sets out on a desperate rescue mission into the impenetrable wilderness—an enchanted forest hidden just outside Portland, Oregon. By her side is her clumsy but loyal classmate Curtis Mehlberg (Jacob Tremblay), and together they navigate a world filled with talking animals, bandits, and powerful figures driven by grief and ambition.
As they are both drawn into a conflict that threatens the entire forest’s balance, Prue must find a strength and faith within herself that she didn’t know she had. If she is to save her brother and protect Wildwood’s fragile future, she must dare to risk everything.
Travis Knight directed the film from a screenplay by Chris Butler. Producers are Travis Knight and Sam Wilson.
Other voices are provided by Carey Mulligan, Mahershala Ali, Angela Bassett, Awkwafina, Maya Erskine, Jake Johnson, Charlie Day, Tom Waits, Richard E. Grant, and Amandla Stenberg, among others.
