Beatrice Sigfridsson

A newly arrived Smålander who, via England, the USA, Zambia and Skåne, found her way to Boden and the role of museum educator at the Swedish Defence Museum Boden.

– I got a really positive feeling when I came here. I feel proud when I walk around here and feel that this well-crafted museum is my new workplace. With a bachelor’s degree in fashion studies and a master’s in museology, she now weaves together her knowledge of history, textiles, costumes and education here in Boden.

– Boden has a very exciting history that can be told in many ways. What draws me here is that I see an opportunity to work educationally with exhibitions in a creative and fun workplace. To take a holistic approach and highlight currents of ideas, defence and preparedness, and also the civilian side—not only in wartime.

One of her initial areas of responsibility is the exhibition “Money!”—an exhibition by young people about money and sustainability. A little event tip for the upcoming school sports break next week, by the way! For just over a month now, Beatrice has been settling into one of Boden’s brand-new apartments, right in the heart of proximity life. Her interest in reuse and sustainability has already taken her to Boden’s second-hand shops. Looking ahead, she’s also curious about choir and church life, and ice fishing, in and around Boden.
