From a city of 12 million inhabitants to one with 30,000. Say hello to the new Boden resident, Gabriela!
Gabriela Freitas Ribeiro and her mom from São Paulo came to Boden in May to explore and check out schools and clubs. Then they took the chance and stayed.
– I was a bit shocked by everything at first, like the nature and the proximity. The strange thing is how quickly I got used to it!
Gabi, as she is called, describes how it already feels like home. Now she is studying IB and playing handball in BBK, where she is a left-handed right back and also the youngest in the squad playing in Division 1. The practices? “Really fun!”
The best thing about Sweden? Fika, without a doubt. She answers lightning-fast without even thinking. Meatballs and chocolate balls are also high on the list.
She has already managed to see the northern lights from the balcony, where she sat with her mom for over 30 minutes and just enjoyed it. She is a little afraid of the winter, but she is looking forward to the snow!
The only things really missing are her dog and her friends back home in Brazil.
