Plutten isn’t just any horse; he’s a Värmland ‘new-in-Boden’ horse. This six-year-old Swedish Warmblood and his owner Julia Ehn can now call themselves Boden residents. Together, they’ve moved all the way from Värmland to Boden, where Julia has started a new job as a municipal Land and Development Engineer.
“I’ve always wanted to try living in Norrland. I hunt and enjoy being in the forest, so when I saw there was a job here, I applied,” says Julia, stroking her four-legged friend’s coat.
Being able to bring your horse along when moving far from family and friends means a lot. Plutten provides both companionship and is a natural part of everyday life. The stable also offers a natural community with other horse enthusiasts. From Julia’s apartment in central Boden, it only takes a few minutes to get to the stable in Bränslan, where Plutten lives with seven other horse friends.

Right now, the duo from Värmland is busy discovering all of Boden’s riding trails and life in the north. Julia has made new contacts through both work and the stable. She has already been invited to go hunting. She also likes classic cars and cruising. Getting a job in Boden as a recent university graduate, where the horse could come along, and with the Boden Motor Meet coming up this weekend, feels like a perfect match.
