Grammy and Oscar®-winning supernova H.E.R. and Liza Soberano (Lisa Frankenstein, Alone/Together) star as Jo and Raissa. Best friends since elementary school, they have now graduated high school and are about to embark on their separate life journeys.
While celebrating their final night together, Jo and Raissa stumble upon a mysterious portal that transports them to the fantastic island of Nakali, filled with the magical and mythological creatures they heard stories about growing up in their Filipino families.
Some of these creatures become friends, others become enemies. Accompanied by the well-meaning but hapless wolf-dog Raww (Dave Franco) and a small but mighty gang of pals, Jo and Raissa must face The Dreaded Manananggal (Tony-winning icon Lea Salonga), the most terrifying creature on the island. When they discover that the price of returning home is losing all memories of their friendship, Jo and Raissa must race to find a way off the island before they forget each other completely, forever.
