BBC showcases our proximity life
This summer, she suddenly appeared on the BBC, which shared her Instagram post featuring settings and stories from Boden’s proximity life. Lala has a master’s degree in biotechnology and previously worked in Poland in a toxicology department. In her private life, she has built a popular Instagram account where she shares her life and everyday routines in a wide range of settings here in Boden.
Lala is originally from Azerbaijan, as is her husband’s family, who came here many years ago and live in the village of Svartlå outside Boden. On social media, she shares everything from picnics at Kvarnängen, food and coffee breaks at our cafés and restaurants, snow and snowmobiling, to day-trip destinations, leisure time, skiing and the northern lights. And Swedish food, often cooked outdoors in nature.
“Swedish dishes are, in my opinion, both healthy and balanced,” Lala says.
“The best thing about living in Sweden is probably nature. It’s so peaceful and beautiful that I’d rather spend all my free time outdoors. Since I moved here, fishing has become one of my favourite hobbies.”
She is now studying at SFI to learn more Swedish.
“The more I learn the language, the more I feel a warm sense of belonging in Sweden.”
