Say hello and welcome back to Josefin! One of many returnees who have come back to Boden, in her case after seven years away. She studied to be a nurse in Kalmar and returned at the turn of the year. She has missed the proximity life, and says her heart has always been in Boden.
— I enjoyed my time in Kalmar, I lived by the water and it was nice, but I felt that my heart is still in Boden. The air is completely different here, and just the fact that you’re in nature as soon as you step outside the door.
She will work for a year or so as a nurse to get into the swing of things after her studies, but dreams of one day becoming a midwife. It’s a shortage occupation that is increasingly needed, and she is motivated to continue studying. Both to reach her dream job, and because the region pays for the studies in that case.
We met Josefin at work a few weeks ago. As we sit in a room at the hospital in Sunderbyn talking, with light snow falling outside the window, she says she has really missed the “spring-winter” season. Enjoying a long season for cross-country skiing or sitting out on the ice fishing while enjoying the warming sun.
This summer she’s going to learn how to kayak in Buddbyträsket; we wish her the best of luck with that, and say a warm welcome (back) to Boden!
