Haron Hatou

Haron Hatou is 26 years old and moved to Boden after studying to be a dentist on the west coast. He first started in Luleå, but one day he joined the clinic manager Sandra at Folktandvården here in Boden. It “seemed awesome,” as Haron puts it, and he moved here. Welcome to Boden, we say!

— This is honestly the best clinic I’ve ever been at. The aura and management are great. We’re a good group and we laugh through a big part of the day.

Just as Haron says this, Ashianti Sundqvist pokes her head into the examination room. She is one of those colleagues who makes the workdays a little extra special.

Haron also describes how it feels like he’s doing something meaningful in Boden.
— I get to work in a shortage occupation and feel that I’m really making a difference and contributing to something good every day. Besides, in Gothenburg where I’m from, there are almost too many dentists; here, people are queuing up to see the dentist, so it feels more like you’re really helping out.

We also take the opportunity to get the dentist’s three best tips for good oral health:

  1. Be sugar-smart! It matters more how you eat sugar, not how much you eat. Don’t snack on candy throughout an entire afternoon or evening, because then it erodes the teeth for a long time.
  2. Fluoride technique! Let the toothpaste stay on; don’t rinse too much after brushing. That way, the toothpaste continues to work for a good while after brushing.
  3. … and then of course brush your teeth, that’s my general recommendation to people, says Haron and laughs.

Thank you Haron for letting us meet you, and for becoming a Boden everyday hero in oral health!
