With a bachelor’s degree in urban planning behind her, Beatrice left her roots in Stockholm for a project manager role at the Urban Development Department in Boden.
“An opening in Boden came up that sounded really interesting. I felt that if I don’t take this chance when it’s offered, I’ll regret it. I was drawn to the fact that Boden is in an exciting phase of the green transition. I want to be part of the shift to a sustainable society. Northern Sweden is leading the green transition. I hope that, with new knowledge from my studies, I can contribute while also learning from the broad collaboration required within a municipality.”
Beatrice moved 1,100 km for the job and managed to find an apartment in central Boden, close to both work and leisure. We’ll probably see her around town in more than just high-vis workwear. She also quickly showed up on the handball court.
“I chose to take up handball again in connection with the move, and I now play for BBK. It makes a big difference to find a social circle and contacts outside of work too. It’s about creating a new everyday life and a new life.”
