Daniella Niemi Zegers grew up in Kiruna and moved to Uppsala, where she met someone from Boden! When they started a family, the plan was to move north again. In Sävast, they found the house that made them feel this is where we’ll stay, we’ll never move again.
“But now we’ve seen more beautiful places here in Boden, so you never know. But we’re staying in Boden,” says Daniella.
They moved here with their son, who is now two years old and starting at Lunda preschool, which is within walking distance from home.
Daniella is a newly hired HR consultant at the Municipality of Boden, a role that is especially needed now as we face major challenges with skills supply.
“I’ve worked as a manager responsible for personnel, sales, and profitability in the private sector before, but felt that I was most passionate about HR issues and creating good work environments. In my new role here in Boden, I’m one of several HR consultants who provide support to managers on personnel matters. One of the advantages I see with working on HR issues in the public sector is being able to focus on the core mission while still being efficient.”
As the best thing about the family’s life in Boden, she mentions proximity.
Within 10 minutes she can reach:
- The preschool
- The grocery store
- The gym
- Nature
- The Job
(… that’s what we call proximity life!)
“In a big city, it also required more planning to make social life happen. Now I’m a mom of young children, so a lot revolves around that, but it’s really nice that whatever you want to do here, it’s within biking distance.”
Welcome here!
