Bodforsen is a residential area located by the Lule River, very close to the Boden hydroelectric power plant. The settlement consists of slightly older villas and holiday homes located along the river, as well as a terraced house area with condominiums. There is also Börstingens Camping in the area. When residents describe the area, they use expressions such as homely, safe and peaceful, child-friendly and good neighbors. The area has good pedestrian and cycle paths, and it is easy to get down to the river where there are beautiful walking paths. The suspension bridge over the river is also equipped with lighting, allowing for nice walks even in the evening. The area is served by the Citybuss line 1 and a few minutes away is the “Garnis” which is a hub for both local and regional bus services. A school bus is available.

About the area

Bodforsen used to consist of meadows and farmland but began to be developed in the 1960s. The townhouse area was built in the 1980s and there were plans to develop the area. Among other things, a gas station and a shop were envisaged. However, these ideas never came to fruition. The townhouse area is currently owned by a housing association. Every winter there is an ice rink in the courtyard for children to ride on and in the summer there is a flea market.
