Basic adult education

Do you need to complete your education at the basic level? Here at Komvux, Lärcentrum, there is the opportunity to rehearse and read the compulsory school courses. In consultation with career and study counselors, you choose which courses you should study and at what pace. If necessary, we also offer tests to determine what level you should study at.

Upper secondary school education

At Komvux, Lärcentrum you can read a number of upper secondary school courses. Maybe you are missing a course to get a upper secondary school diploma, or want to be eligible to go on to study at college and / or university and therefore need to supplement with certain courses. Upper secondary school courses can be read here and at a distance, full- or part-time and with flexible start and end dates. If necessary, we also offer tests to determine what level you should study at. Career and study counselors can provide more information.

Combination educations

During a combination education, you learn Swedish at the same time as you study a vocational education at upper secondary school level. You get to practice and have good chances of getting a job after the education.

Adult education offers basic vocational education in construction, restaurant and tourism. You can combine vocational courses with studies in SFI or Swedish as other basic languages. You will also learn different concepts in the profession, in the form of professional Swedish. You study 27 hours a week, according to a study plan that suits you. The education is CSN-eligible.

Polytechnic

Polytechnic (abbreviated YH) is a very successful form of education that often leads directly to employment in the labor market. The YH educations are tailored to the needs of the business community, and many YH students get jobs immediately after graduation. A YH education contains both, theory and practice and provides CSN and is granted according to the need in the labor market.

Train driver training

The train industry in Sweden is facing large new recruitment needs in the next few years, not least due to retirements, therefore the industry has a huge need for new recruitment.

Vocational training

At Lärcentrum we can offer a large number of vocational training. We provide some of them on our own, while others are provided by external training providers. Common to all vocational education is that after such a course you have good future prospects. By the year 2030, 51,000 new jobs will be needed, in Norrbotten alone. Construction machine operator

An education for you who want to work with machines in the construction industry. Here you will learn how to handle machines such as wheel loaders, excavators and other earth-moving machines. The education follows current rules according to TYA / BYN.

The education
The training is about 60 weeks. We set up a study plan that suits you. About 15% of the education consists of workplace-based learning. The purpose is for you to develop professional skills and the first professional culture in the industry. The education is CSN-eligible.

Previous knowledge
To apply for the education, you need to be registered in the municipality and have completed compulsory school or have knowledge corresponding to Swedish compulsory school and have a B grade driving license. The education is mainly aimed at those who are over 20 years old. We prefer that you, as a newcomer, have completed SFI course D.

After the training
After passing the training, you will receive a training certificate on the machine you were trained for. When you have worked for 30 months, the certificate is exchanged for a professional certificate issued by TYA.

Childcare worker in preschool

An education for you who enjoy working with children. As a childcare worker, your task is to give the children a safe and stimulated stay at the preschool. In your tasks, you also have an overall responsibility over the children during the day. Most often you work at a municipal or private preschool, but it can also be a parent cooperative where the children’s parents participate in operations and activities.

The education
The education is about 1 year. You also have the opportunity to study at a distance and choose your own pace of study. We set up a study plan that suits you. The education includes both practical and theoretical elements. About 15% of the education consists of workplace-based learning. The education is CSN-eligible. You start with the compulsory basic courses and then choose the specialization / advanced courses.

After the training
After completing your education, you have received both a basic vocational education, work experience and learned the profession both practically and theoretically.

Electrician

A simulating and varied work for you who like problem solving and working with your hands. In your work as an electrician, you get to work with maintenance, electrical installations and repairs, among other things. You can work as an industrial electrician, service electrician or installation electrician.

The education
The education is at upper secondary level and is combined with both theoretical and practical tasks. The training includes APL in a workplace where you can use your new knowledge practically. The study rate is 20-25 points / week. The education is CSN-eligible.

Previous knowledge
You must have a high school diploma or equivalent. If you have Swedish as your second language, you must have grades in at least Swedish as a second language at the basic level. If you have prior knowledge of the profession, you have the opportunity to credit that knowledge and thus shorten the training period.

After the training
If you later want to apply for an ECY certificate, you need 1500p vocational skills where municipal adult work is included, Swedish 1 or Swedish as a second language 1, mathematics 1a, English 5 and 1600 hours of apprenticeship. You can also further your education through continuing education courses or, for example, polytechnics.

Painter

If you want a creative and creative profession, painting is the profession for you. The work includes sub-work such as filling and sanding for wallpapering and painting of various surfaces. As a tiler, you work i.a. with covering walls or floors with tiles, mosaics or artificial concrete. The work is mostly done indoors in e.g. kitchens, bathrooms, entrances, etc. The tasks also include sub-work, such as filling, sanding, waterproofing of walls and floors.

Even though the profession is constantly evolving with modern machines, techniques and materials, the craft remains.

Assistant nurse

Assistant nurse is a varied job where the person is at the center. Common tasks are care and service for the sick, the elderly or for people with disabilities / variation in function, which are given in different ways, depending on where care is given: at home, in special accommodation or in a hospital. Assistant nurses also work with certain healthcare tasks. They check the temperature, measure blood pressure, take samples and apply wounds.

Professional driver - Bus

Professional driver - Truck

Do you like heavy vehicles and want an independent job on the road? The goals for municipal adult education (Komvux) are that adults should be supported and stimulated in their learning.
