Why are schools with an international curriculum so important for children, when guardians work in the international labour market?
The International School of Boden educates students from the ages of 6 to 19 and students are taught according to an international curriculum. Our international primary school is the only one of its kind in Norrbotten and we have started to lower thresholds for families who want to try life in Northern Sweden without having their children fall behind in their academic development due to language barriers.

Our international curriculum is used all over the world and is therefore transferable no matter where in the world you live. This makes it possible to live close to nature, in a safe environment with everything you and your family need right here in Boden.
What is the difference between a school with an international curriculum and an English speaking school with a Swedish curriculum?
The first and biggest difference is the language of instruction. At the International School of Boden, English is the main language and we teach all subjects in English. We can also teach Swedish with English as the language of instruction. In Swedish schools, Swedish is the main language, even in the schools that call themselves international, a maximum of 50% of the teaching may be conducted in English.
Our international curriculum is used all over the world and is therefore transferable no matter where in the world you live.
At ISB, we strive to provide our students with knowledge about our global world to a much greater extent than the Swedish curriculum does, which for obvious reasons has a strong focus on Swedish culture and a Swedish perspective.
We have experienced teachers from all over the world who speak English and a range of other languages.
Our international school is tailor-made so that students who come from other countries can continue to develop according to their own conditions. But we also want to make sure that they find new friends and connect with the Swedish culture. Therefore, our school shares buildings with our schools that teach with the Swedish curriculum and we work actively to build bridges between our Swedish and international students through a structured buddy program.
Our school is simply the best of both worlds to make it easier for families from other countries to move here and help us with our social transformation!
